Principal Investigator

Dr. Thiago J. Borges is a transplant biologist and immunologist, a Group Leader at the MGH Center for Transplantation Sciences, and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He earned his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology and completed postdoctoral fellowships in molecular immunology (BIDMC) and transplant immunology (BWH/MGH). His research focuses on developing novel strategies to modulate innate immune responses and antigen presentation, aiming to improve therapeutic outcomes for transplant recipients.

Post-Doc Research Fellow

Dr. Karina Rodrigues Lima is an immunologist and postdoctoral fellow studying dendritic cell biology and immune regulation. She trained in Molecular Biotechnology and Cellular and Molecular Biology, and earned her PhD in Biosciences, investigating the role of the E3 ubiquitin ligase Marchf1 in dendritic cells within cancer and transplantation models. Her current work explores how Marchf1 shapes effective immune responses.

Post-Doc Research Fellow

Minxue Liao is a Research Fellow in the Borges Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. He earned his M.D. and completed his Ph.D. in 2025 with research conducted at CTS, MGH. His expertise spans transplantation models, bioinformatics, machine learning, and immune regulation. Minxue’s current work integrates experimental and computational approaches to develop new strategies for inducing immune tolerance in organ transplantation.

PhD Candidate

Ana Micaela Camini is a biomedical scientist and PhD candidate in Biotechnology at Univates, Brazil. She earned her Master’s in Biotechnology from the same institution, focusing on Helicobacter pylori. Currently a Fulbright visiting researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her work combines structural biology, molecular modeling, and immunology to explore new immunotherapeutic strategies.
